The 2018 Ford EcoSport arriving in India later this
year will have a new ‘Titanium S’ grade. Team-BHP forum member Gannu 1 spotted
a Ford EcoSport Titanium S test mule on the Chennai-Trichy highway recently.
Ford already offers a Ford EcoSport Titanium S in
Europe. The ‘S’ addition to the Titanium badge is an indicator of a sportier
styling. From the information divulged by the car spotter, it seems like the
2018 Ford EcoSport Titanium S will have distinctive alloy wheels similar to the
17-inch alloy wheels of the test mule spotted in June. We are not sure if Ford
India will add stiffer springs like in the Figo S, or make any changes to the
car’s mechanical carriage.
The 2018 Ford EcoSport features a new front fascia
with cues borrowed from the Ford Edge and Ford Kuga. A new hexagonal grille
flanked by larger headlamps, triangular fog lamps and remodeled bumper give the
small SUV a fresh look at the front. The facelift will bring comprehensive
interior changes as well. The new EcoSport will have fully redesigned
instrument panel, steering wheel and centre console, SYNC 3 infotainment system
and a grab bar on the dashboard.
Internationally, the Ford EcoSport received a
1.5-litre three-cylinder flex-fuel engine and a 1.5-litre EcoBlue diesel engine
with the facelift. Expect these engines on the India specification as well,
besides the 1.0-litre Ecoboost petrol. Sales of the 2018 Ford EcoSport in India
will commence in November 2017. The Titanium S grade may top the range, as the
ST-Line variant‘s launch here is unlikely.
