Ford has showcased the New Ford Tourneo Custom at
the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show. The New Ford Tourneo Custom can deliver first
class travel for up to nine occupants in a new premium interior.
The Tourneo
Custom is available to order later this year, and for delivery in early 2018.
The front fascia gets a familiar trapezoidal chrome grille with five bars. The
vehicle gets LED daytime running lights, and the high-series models feature HID
Xenon illumination.
Moving inside, the people mover features an all-new
instrument panel, pioneered on the all-new Ford Fiesta. The high-series models
get an 8-inch colour touchscreen with pinch and swipe gestures. The new Tourneo
Custom is the only vehicle in its segment to offer six individual seats, with
the ability to arrange the two rear rows in conference format, or in two rows
of three seats facing forward. Rear seat passengers can enjoy the more
effective air conditioning system offering faster cooling or heating; six USB
ports, and a 10-speaker audio system. The vehicle features Ford’s SYNC 3
communications and entertainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as
well.
The New Tourneo Custom features the 2.0 litre Ford
EcoBlue diesel engine with a choice of 105 PS, 130 PS and 170 PS power ratings.
Transmission options include a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic. On the
safety department, the vehicle is equipped with Intelligent Speed Limiter;
Traffic Sign Recognition System; Blind Spot Information System with Cross
Traffic Alert; Pre-Collision Assist with Pedestrian Detection emergency braking
system; Lane Keeping Alert; Side Wind Stabilisation and Adaptive Cruise
Control.
The New Ford Tourneo Custom line-up offers either
eight- or nine-seat configurations, with a choice of short wheelbase and long
wheelbase versions. The longer model provides additional luggage space behind
the third seat row.
