TVR
has released a new gallery of the reborn Griffith live from the Goodwood
Revival’s floor. TVR is finally back with an all-new Griffith, a lightweight
two-seater sports car with the engine at the front and a manual gearbox to whip
it.
Under the bonnet sits a Ford-sourced 5.0-liter V8
upgraded by Cosworth sending around 500 hp via a Tremec Magnum XL six-speed
manual gearbox to the rear axle. TVR claims an unladen weight of 1250 kg, meaning
the new Griffith will offer a power-to-weight ratio of 400 hp/tonne while weight
distribution is a perfect 50-50.
0-100 km/h comes in less than four seconds
while flat out, the new TVR Griffith will do over 321 km/h, placing it
in the upper league of sports cars.
The chassis uses Gordon Murray’s iStream process,
meaning a steel and aluminum frame with bonded carbon composite sections. The
bodywork is also mostly made out of carbon fiber to help TVR achieve its
targets.
The first 500 examples of the new TVR Griffith will
be badged as special ‘Launch Edition’ models, priced at under £ 90,000 each.
Deliveries are expected to begin in early 2019.
