European dealers will get their hands on the all-new
Insignia Country Tourer soon after the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show concludes. The
all-new Insignia's most rugged version is set to join a segment in which
off-road friendly Estates aren't exactly the norm, which is a good thing when
you're trying to differentiate a product from everything else that's out there.
In Europe, where it will wear an Opel or a Vauxhall
badge, its only direct rivals are the Volkswagen Passat Alltrack and the
Peugeot 508 RXH, the later having all-wheel drive only in Hybrid form.
Opel made sure to pack lots of standard safety
features into the Country Tourer, such as hill start assist, a front camera,
forward collision alert with pedestrian detection, city emergency braking, lane
departure warning, lane keep assist and high beam assist.
In terms of connectivity, there's Apple CarPlay and
Android Auto, both standard on the Radio R 4.0 IntelliLink infotainment system,
while convenience features include keyless entry and go as well as two-zone
climate control, among others.
The model Opel brought to this year's Frankfurt show
has a dual-tone interior and a Dark Caramel exterior, which is an optional
color, priced at £ 655 in the UK.
