Tata Motors dealerships have started receiving the
Tata Nexon, the company’s first small SUV. In the latest, Team-BHP forum member
RavenAvi has spotted the Nexon in its mid-level XM grade at a Noida dealership.
The Tata Nexon XM features 15-inch alloy wheels, but
like the base Tata Nexon XE, does not get body coloured ORVMs and body coloured
door handles. On the inside, the XM grade has gloss black inserts, an MID in
the instrument panel and a small display with the readings of the ConnectNEXT
multimedia system. There’s no engine start-stop button, and the space for it
looks left out empty. The XM grade is also devoid of an automatic climate
control system.
Higher-end grades will get projector headlights, LED
DRLs, 16-inch alloy wheels, LED tail lamps, engine start-stop button, automatic
climate control, touchscreen infotainment system with navigation, Apple CarPlay
and Android Auto, front & rear central armrest and parking sensors and
camera.
The Tata Nexon is 3,995 mm long, 1,811 mm wide and
1,607 mm tall, and has a 2,498 mm wheelbase. It has two engine options:
1.2-litre Revotron petrol and 1.5-litre Revotorq diesel. The turbocharged
three-cylinder petrol engine produces 110 PS and 170 Nm of torque. The
turbocharged four-cylinder diesel engine develops 110 PS and 260 Nm of torque.
A 6-speed manual transmission sends power to the front wheels. An AMT option is
in the works, and it will follow by early 2018.
Tata Motors has confirmed that the Tata Nexon will
go on sale in India this month. Latest reports say that 21 September is the
date for the launch.
