Toyota presented the Hilux Invincible 50 special
edition at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show (IAA 2017) to celebrate 50 years of
dominance in the global pickup market. The Toyota Hilux Invincible 50 gets
updates that are purely cosmetic.
This special edition features black
front under-run and black wheel arch mouldings. It comes shod with BF Goodrich
all terrain tyres wrapped around unique 18-inch matte black rims. The matte
black treatment extends to high over and side bars. The show car also features
a plastic bed liner along with a large tool box, model specific scuff plates,
floor mats and a leather wrapped handbrake. Towards the rear half, the pickup
truck receives black and red decals with bold ‘Invincible’ lettering.
For the European market, the Toyota Hilux gets a 2.4
L D-4D diesel that produces 150 hp of peak power and 400 Nm of peak torque. It
comes with a choice of 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmissions
sending power to all four wheels.
The Toyota Hilux is currently in its eighth
generation and is sold in 180 countries. It has achieved cumulative sales of
over 18 million units since its first appearance in 1968.
