The Bajaj Pulsar NS200 has been given an adventure
touring makeover, to look similar to the Triumph Tiger 800.
Mr. Pawan from Bengaluru owns this custom Bajaj
Pulsar NS200. ‘Scienty Ravi’ from Bengaluru’s ScientyKraft custom shop has
modified his motorcycle. The bike features headlight guard; a full-size crash
guard protecting the radiator sides and the engine; and a skid plate at the
bottom as well. The metal frames are made out of mild steel. Other additions
include KTM 390 Duke-derived handlebar with knuckle guards; adjustable
windscreen and pillion backrest for added comfort. Additionally, there are
saddle stays on the sides and a top pannier mounting frame behind the pillion
backrest.
The modifications have resulted in a weight gain of
around 12 kg. However, to offset the weight gain, the motorcycle features an
aftermarket exhaust with aluminium casing and a BMC air filter. The combination
should offer a slight performance gain, but the numbers are not given. The
stock Bajaj Pulsar NS200 employs a 199.5 cc single cylinder SOHC mill with
liquid cooling. It makes 23.5 PS of power at 9,500 rpm and 18.3 Nm of torque at
8,000 rpm.
For suspension, the bike employs telescopic front
fork and a rear Nitrox monoshock with canister. The front fork appears to be
slightly elongated for better ground clearance. The motorcycle uses 280 mm
front and a 230 mm rear disc. The 17-inch stock alloy wheels retain the stock
100-section front and 130-section rear tubeless tyres. The fuel tank can hold
12 litres.
