As a motorcycle show, the importance of EICMA cannot be understated, as this is where almost all the manufacturers, and several boutique, low-volume builders, have the first appearances of their 2018 motorcycles. Latest addition to the line up of bike makers teasing models ahead of the Milan show is BMW Motorrad, with the F 850 GS adventure bike.

Little is known about the F 850 GS, aside from, well, it will definitely be smaller than the R 1200 GS, and will displace something below 850 cc. From the video, it can be seen the F 850 GS carries the same parallel-twin engine as the F 800 series bikes, with the obvious potential of producing more power.

It can be assumed the F 850 GS is going to be pretty much an all new model, as the F 800 GS has been around for close to 10 years now. Other details seen in the video are a TFT-LCD instrument display, replacing the analogue clocks on the F 800, as well as LED headlights.
