The 2018 Fiat 500 Anniversario
Special Edition is now on sale in Australia, celebrating the iconic Italian
nameplate’s 60th anniversary.
Designed to commemorate the
beginning of production for the legendary Fiat 500 in Turin, Italy, some 60
years ago, the car is a retro limited-edition variant of the current ‘Series 4’
500 hatchback to Australia.
Priced at AUD 21,990 before on-road
costs, or AUD 2000 more than the 500 Lounge manual, the Anniversario gets
exclusive ‘heritage paint’ options – Sicilia Orange and Riviera Green – along
with 16-inch vintage-style alloy wheels with diamond-turned finish, chrome
accents on the bonnet and mirror caps, and special seat trim with
horizontal-striped fabric and embroidered ‘500’ logo.
Being based on the top-spec
Lounge variant, the 500 Anniversario is powered by the same 1.2-litre
four-cylinder petrol engine as the wider Fiat 500 range, which develops 70 Hp of
power and 102 Nm of torque. Drive is sent to the front wheels via either a
five-speed manual or six-speed ‘Dualogic’ automated manual.
Other features carried over from
the donor car include a Uconnect 5.0-inch infotainment system with satellite
navigation, bluetooth phone and audio streaming, rear parking sensors, DAB+
digital radio, and a 7.0-inch TFT driver’s instrument display. Just 60 examples
of the 500 Anniversario Special Edition will be available across Australia.
