Mahindra has launched the 2018 MY Genio in
Australia. The Mahindra Genio pickup now comes with a Euro 5 compliant diesel
engine. The ute is available in single-cab and dual-cab body styles.
There’s a 2.2 Litre 4-cylinder Intercooled Turbo
Diesel powering the Mahindra Genio with a power and torque output of 120 Hp and
280 Nm. The engine is paired to a 5-speed manual transmission. It has a fuel
economy of 7.5 L/100km for the single cab 4×2 variant and 8.1 L/100km for the
dual cab on the ADR 81/02 combined fuel cycle. The single cab Genio has a payload capacity in
excess of 1.2 tonnes with a 2,700 mm long tray while the dual cab has a 1,950
mm tray.
Standard features include ESC, Hill Ascent/Descent
control, stop/start system, air conditioning, cruise control, electric windows,
electric ORVMs, double DIN CD/MP3/Radio tuner with SD card and USB ports, and
steering wheel mounted audio and cruise controls.
Optional equipment include
Tradie Pack (Bluetooth hands-free phone kit with dual USB charging socket),
alloy bull bar and steel tow bar, alloy wheels in black or silver trim, floor
mats, and canvas seat covers. There are three colour options – Black, White or
Silver.
The Single Cab Turbo Diesel 4×2 is priced from AUD
21,990 while the Dual Cab Turbo Diesel 4×2 configuration Cab
Chassis can be had for AUD 25,490 . That’s an increment of AUD
1,000 in the price of the base single cab variant as compared to the previous
model.
