Yamaha Motor Brazil has launched the 2018 Yamaha
Fazer 250 ABS in the country at a suggested price of BRL 14,990, excluding
shipping.
The 2018 Yamaha Fazer 250 is sold in India as the
Yamaha FZ25. However, the Brazilian version features dual channel ABS, Pirelli
Sport Demon tyres, and a 4-year warranty as standard. The motorcycle is
available in Racing Blue, Matte Red, Black Eclipse, and White Crystal colour
options.
Powering the 2018 Yamaha Fazer 250 is a 249.5cc SOHC
2-valve BlueFlex engine. The powerplant is marginally more powerful than the
Indian version and is Ethanol compatible as well. It makes 21.3 PS of power at
8,000 rpm (21.5 PS in Ethanol); and 20.5 Nm of torque 6,500 rpm. The powerplant
works in tandem with a 5-speed gearbox.
A 41 mm front telescopic fork, and a rear monoshock
hold the diamond type frame. Brakes include a 285 mm front disc, and a 220 mm
disc at the rear, both with ABS. The 17-inch alloy wheels are shod with
100-section front and 140-section rear Pirelli Sport Demon tyres.
Yamaha also offers accessories like tail luggage
rack, lockable top box, LED indicators, and flyscreen. Other notable features
include full digital instrumentation, and LED headlamp and tail light. The 2018
Yamaha Fazer 250 ABS primarily rivals the Honda CB Twister in the Brazilian
market.
