Ford has launched the updated EcoSport in India
armed with revised fascia and a new petrol engine. Prices of the Ford EcoSport
facelift start at INR lakhs 7.31 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi) for the base petrol
Ambiente trim while the diesel range starts at INR 8.02 lakhs (ex-showroom
Delhi).
The petrol Trend+ and Titanium+ trims are only
available with an automatic transmission. The range topping diesel Titanium+
trim is priced at INR 10.67 lakhs, an increment of INR 20,000 over the outgoing
model.
Ford India is no longer offering the EcoSport with
their award winning 1.0 L EcoBoost engine. Also, there is a new 1.5 L petrol
engine powering the EcoSport facelift mated to either a 5-speed manual or a
6-speed automatic transmission.
All trims, barring Ambiente, get a touchscreen
display with SYNC3 support. However, Trend and Trend+ get a 6.5 inch unit while
the Titanium and Titanium+ trims are equipped with an 8-inch unit. ISOFIX child
seat anchorage points, cruise control, side and curtain airbags, rain sensing
wipers, automatic headlamps, rearview camera, and paddle shifters (AT only) are
restricted to the range-topping Titanium+ trim.
Interestingly, the Titanium S trim, which has been
spotted on several occasions, isn’t a part of the lineup. Ford may introduce it
at a later stage or restrict its sale to export markets only.
