Husqvarna has unveiled the production 2018 Husqvarna Vitpilen 701, and the Husqvarna Svartpilen 701 Concept at the 2017 EICMA show, held in Milan, Italy.

The concept version of the Husqvarna Vitpilen 701 was showcased in 2015, and Husqvarna has finally revealed the production model at this year’s EICMA show. Husqvarna says the bike is will be available in Europe by March 2018. The design of this motorcycle is immaculate and simple, yet progressive enough to suit the lifestyle of modern urban motorcycling.

The front end comes with a circular LED headlamp with a matching circular digital instrument cluster. The clip on handlebars and the rear set footpegs ensure a sporty cafe racer-like riding position. A chiselled fuel tank adorns the top portion of the chromium molybdenum trellis frame, and the pillion seat comes with a cowl.

Powering the Vitpilen 701 is a 692.7cc single cylinder engine with fuel injection and liquid cooling. The engine makes 76 PS of power, and 72 Nm of torque at 6,750 rpm. Ride-by-wire throttle operates the electronic fuel injection, and the powerplant pairs with a 6-speed transmission with hydraulically actuated slipper clutch. The motorcycle also comes with traction control as standard.

For suspension, the Vitpilen 701 employs 43 mm WP upside down front fork, and a WP rear monoshock with linkage. A 320 mm front disc with Brembo radial callipers, and a single rear 240 mm rear disc handle the braking duty. The brakes come with Bosch twin-channel switchable ABS as well.

The Husqvarna Svartpilen 701 Concept is an off-road centric take on the Vitpilen. The design of this motorcycle is inspired by the resurgence of the flat track scene, and Husqvarna says the bike delivers an authentic riding experience.

The motorcycle comes with Pirelli knobby tyres, front fork protectors, and an exposed air filter on the side. The side panel of the tail section also features a protective cladding. The powertrain components are likely to be the same as the Vitpilen.

Husqvarna also showcased the Vitpilen 401 & Svartpilen 401. Both these models will be available at authorised European dealers from February 2018.
