Mitsubishi has officially revealed the Triton
Athlete, which is scheduled to make its public debut at the Thai Motor Expo
commencing November 30 onwards. Prices of the Mitsubishi Triton Athlete
variants have not been announced yet.
The Mitsubishi Triton Athlete gets a handful of
cosmetic enhancements. Highlights include a blacked-out honeycomb grille, black
cladding on the bumpers and wheel arches. The black theme continues with
blacked out 17-inch alloy wheels, side steps, ORVMs, and door handles.
Mitsubishi has been generous with black and orange decals all around.
The black and orange theme continues on inside as
well. The seats are wrapped in black upholstery with orange inlays to match the
body graphics. ‘Athlete’ lettering is present on the seat back and floor
mats. Bits like the seat, steering
wheel, gear knob, door panel, storage box, and center console get orange
stitching. Feature additions include an 8-way electrically adjustable driver’s
seat and a touchscreen AVN with Apple CarPlay support.
Mitsubishi will offer the Triton Athlete in three
colours – White Pearl, Titanium Grey, and Black Diamond. There will be three
variants on offer – Double Cab Plus MT,
Double Cab Plus AT and Double Cab 4WD.
Powering the Mitsubishi Triton Athlete is a 2.4 L
MIVEC engine producing 181 hp @ 3,500 rpm and 430 Nm @ 2,500 rpm. Transmission
choices include a 6-speed manual and 5-speed automatic. The automatic variant
is available in both 2WD and 4WD formats.
