A fresh set of 2018 Mahindra XUV500 (facelift) spy shots has surfaced online ahead of its expected debut early next year. The images shared by Anything on Wheels capture the rear section of a camouflaged test mule of the SUV.

The spy shots show the rear end of the Mahindra XUV500 facelift. Changes seem minimal and restricted to a redesigned tailgate with a revised number plate area. The tail lamps appear to be identical to the current model. The bumper mounted reflector units and the dual exhaust pipe setup is also similar to the XUV500 currently on sale.

Mahindra is expected to give the XUV500 a redesigned nose with a new grille and reprofiled bumpers as imagined by the IAB rendering. Spy shots published previously have also revealed a new 10-spoke alloy wheel design.

The specifications of the Mahindra XUV500 will witness a change too. Its 2.2 L mHawk diesel engine will be retuned to produce around 170 hp and 400 Nm. The recently launched petrol variant with a 2.2 L mHawk engine producing 140 bhp and 330 Nm is likely to be carried forward unchanged.

Reports suggest Mahindra is planning an early 2018 launch for the Mahindra XUV500 facelift. Auto Expo may serve as the platform for the new model’s debut. The event kicks off on February 7, 2018.
