The market launch of the Mahindra TUV300 Plus is
just around the corner. IAB has managed to source an ARAI certificate that
leaks some of the Mahindra TUV300 Plus’ specifications. The document reveals
the dimensions, seating capacity, and the power output figures of the product.
The Mahindra TUV300 Plus is a stretched version of
the Mahindra TUV300 sub-4 metre SUV. It measures 4,398 mm in length, 1,815 mm
in width and 1,837 mm in height. The TUV300 Plus is 403 mm longer, 20 mm
narrower and 2 mm lower than the TUV300. While the width and height are
strangely lesser, the wheelbase, as mentioned previously, is the same at 2,680
mm. While the TUV300 tips the scales at 2,225 kg, the TUV300 Plus has a kerb
weight of 2,430 kg.
The Mahindra TUV300 is powered by the 2.2-litre
mHawk120 diesel engine. According to the document above, this 2,197 cc engine
produces a maximum power of 118 hp at 4,000 rpm. It is expected
to deliver a maximum torque of 280 Nm. A 6-speed manual transmission sends
power to the wheels. Availability of an AMT or an AT option is unknown.
Offering up to 9 seats, the Mahindra TUV300 Plus
will go on sale in India next year.
