Royal Enfield UK dealer Millenium Motorcycles has
opened the bookings for the Royal Enfield Interceptor INT 650 for 2018.
The booking amount stands at GBP 100, and the dealer
estimates the price to be around GBP 6,000, which is GBP 801 more expensive
than the OTR (On The Road) price of the Royal Enfield Continental GT. Orange
Crush, Ravishing Red and Silver Spectre are the colours available in the
country. The dealer also offers low rate finance and nationwide delivery.
Royal Enfield CEO Siddhartha Lal confirmed that the
bikes will enter the European market first in April 2018, and then the Indian
market when the brand is ready to take on the local demand. With the Royal
Enfield 650 Twins, the company also aims to strengthen its presence in the
ASEAN and Latin American markets. The 650 Twins made their global debut at the
2017 EICMA show in Milan, Italy.
Powering the Royal Enfield Interceptor INT 650 is an
all-new 648 cc SOHC 4-valve parallel twin unit. It features an oil-cooler, apart
from the fins for air cooling; and fuel injection. The engine comes with a 270
degree crank with a balancer shaft to smoothen out vibrations. The powerplant
makes 47 PS at 7,100 rpm and 52 Nm at 4,000 rpm. The engine works in tandem
with an all-new 6-speed transmission with slip assist clutch.
