While Maruti Suzuki is readying a facelift for the Maruti Ciaz, a test mule has been spotted undergoing road tests by GaadiWaadi.

The latest shots show the 2018 Maruti Ciaz’s rear, where the boot lid and tail lamps appear to have no changes from the current model. The new Maruti Ciaz was expected to look similar to the Suzuki Alivio Pro. However, spy shots of the car’s front-end suggest a notable difference. The facelifted Maruti Ciaz appears to have a new radiator grille design with two horizontal slats, one on its top and one on its bottom.

The current Maruti Ciaz is available with a 1.4-litre petrol engine coupled to a 5-speed manual transmission or a 4-speed automatic transmission as well as a 1.3-litre diesel engine paired with a 5-speed manual transmission. Maruti Suzuki has successfully tested an in-house developed 1.5-litre diesel engine the car. This new engine could debut with the mid-cycle refresh.

Maruti Suzuki has not revealed the 2018 Maruti Ciaz’s launch date. Reports say that the company could use Auto Expo 2018 to showcase the vehicle.
