Toyota is bringing the Avalon into its fifth
generation, approximately six years after its predecessor debuted in full at
the New York Auto Show. And since it's scheduled to be presented in front of an
audience in just a little over a week, during the 2018 Detroit Auto Show, the
automaker has shifted into second gear when it comes to its teaser campaign.
This isn’t the first look at the new
generation Avalon, as we already caught a glimpse of its front end design last
month, which is dominated by the LED-infused headlights, large air intakes, a
generously sized grille, and muscular hood.
On the technical front, the 2019 Toyota Avalon is
believed to share the TNGA platform with the latest Camry, in addition to some
engines, such as the 3.5-liter V6 with 301 hp and 362 Nm of
torque. The large saloon is also expected to adopt a hybrid powertrain that
combines a 2.5-liter unit with an electric motor, for a total of 208 hp.
