Toyota has launched the 2018 Toyota Land Cruiser
Prado in India for a price of INR 92.6 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The new model
made its Indian debut at Auto Expo 2018 last month.
The MY2018 update has brought the second facelift to
the fourth-gen Toyota Land Cruiser Prado, back in 2009. The second facelift makes the SUV
look notably tougher and more aggressive, particularly because of the more
imposing design of the new (full-LED projector) headlamps, radiator grille and
hood. The bumpers, alloy wheels and tail lights are also new. Three new
exterior colours are available – Blackish Ageha, Avant Garde Bronze and Vintage
Brown Pearl.
Inside, the MY2018 update makes the Toyota Land
Cruiser look much more plush and luxurious. Main changes include new 4-spoke
steering wheel, new design combimetre and centre console and heated and
ventilated front seats. Two new interior colours are available – Neutral Beige
and Redwood, in addition to the existing Black colour. The addition of a
panoramic view monitor has made parking easier and safer.
The 2018 Toyota Land Cruiser Prado is powered by the
3.0-litre D-4D turbocharged four-cylinder diesel engine that produces 173 PS at
3,400 rpm and 410 Nm of torque from 1,600-2,800 rpm. A 5-speed automatic
transmission, a 4WD system and an adaptive variable suspension are standard.
The latter allows the driver to choose from three drive modes – Comfort, Normal
and Sport. Toyota equips the 7-seat tough SUV with a crawl control system and
the Multi-Terrain Select system as well.
