The French ambassador to the UK has taken delivery
of a DS 7 Crossback Ultra Prestige flagship model, powered by the new PureTech
225 HP petrol unit.
The car was chosen for official duties mainly
because of its nationality, presence and its high-tech features such as the DS
Active Scan suspension. The fact that it’s powered by a petrol unit instead of
a diesel should also come as no surprise in the aftermath of the cheating
emissions scandal.
They include motorized rear-seat
recline adjustment, air conditioned seats, an interior inspired by Haute
Couture, Active LED Vision headlights, 20-inch alloys, panoramic sunroof, FOCAL
Electra sound system, DS Connected pilot and more.
The first French official to be seen in public in a
DS 7 Crossback was actually President Emmanuel Macron, who was inaugurated a
year ago. Back then, the car wasn’t even available for sale.
While UK deliveries for the DS 7 Crossback have
commenced recently, only BlueHDI diesel units are currently available, with
PureTech petrol ones soon to join the line-up – first with 225 PS,
followed by a 180 PS version.
