Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) has
launched the Honda Dio Deluxe in the country at an ex-showroom, Delhi price of
INR 53,292. Compared to the Standard variant, the Deluxe version
is INR 2,000 more expensive.
The Deluxe variant features a full-LED headlamp
and position lamp. The instrument cluster is fully digital, and comes with the
Three-Step Eco Indicator, just like the Grazia. The cluster gets a service due
indicator as well, apart from the regular trove of information. The steel
wheels are finished in Gold, and the bodywork features sporty graphics with
dual-tone colours. There is a 4-in-1 lock with seat opening switch up front as
well. Other practical touches include a new front hook and a retractable hook;
an optional USB charging port under the seat.
The Honda Dio Deluxe variant continues with the
tried-and-tested 109.19 cc HET engine. The powerplant is good for 7.92 PS of
power at 7,000 rpm, and 8.91 Nm of torque at 5,500 rpm. Pairing with the engine
is a CVT unit. Interestingly, the Dio is marginally underpowered (0.04 PS &
0.09 Nm) than the Activa 5G. Suspension include the bottom-link front, and a
single rear shock absorber. The 130 mm drum brakes at front and rear feature
CBS.
The scooter’s main rival is the Yamaha Ray ZR. The Honda Dio Deluxe
variant is available in four colours- Dazzle Yellow Metallic; Matte Marshal
Green Metallic; Pearl Igneous Black; Matte Axis Grey Metallic.
