Even though fully-autonomous and AI-powered cars
might seem scary to some people, the world’s top engineers will most likely
figure out a way to bring them about in a safe and efficient manner.
This means that the day will come when conventional
cars won’t need to look all that “conventional” anymore, which will open up
whole new possibilities in terms of exterior and interior design. And so, a
Lexus Kaze-like vehicle could easily come to pass.
The Kaze was drawn up by designer Gabriel Hantig,
who imagined an autonomous sporty two-seater with a driver-focused interior,
adaptive seats, AR (augmented reality) tech, OLED lights, lightweight wheels,
active aero wings, a KERS system and a carbon fiber body construction. We even
have a whole bunch of technical specs for it, the type of specs that don’t
usually come with non-official design studies such as this one.
With a wheelbase of 2,897 mm, the Kaze also
measures 4,566 mm in length, 1,200 mm in height and 2,040
mm in width. It’s powered by an 800 HP hybrid power train (V8 petrol
plus electric motor), has rear-wheel drive, weighs just 1,060 kg and would presumably cost around US$ 600,000.
In a nutshell, it would have more power than a
Pagani Huayra, in a package that weighs less than a LaFerrari.
