The Mercedes-AMG GT S open top model is currently up for grabs in certain European
countries.
Pricing starts at £ 126,730 (US$ 172,006) in the United
Kingdom, where deliveries will commence in August, while in Germany it can be
had from € 148,755.95 (US$ 177,935), tax included. Customers will
get a host of standard equipment.
The 19-inch front and 20-inch rear wheels are
offered at no extra cost, as are the AMG Ride Control suspension with adaptive
damping, Active Air Control system and LED headlights. The electrically
extending rear spoiler is standard too, along with the Comand Online system and
Nappa leather upholstery. The three-layer fabric roof can be ordered in one of
three colors: beige, red or black, and this option doesn’t cost anything.
Opting for the Driving Assistance package, which
adds Distance Pilot Distronic, Lane Keeping Assist, Blind Spot Assist and
Pre-Safe will set you back for £ 1,695 (US$ 2,301) in Britain. At the same time,
there’s the AMG Dynamic Plus package as well, available for £ 1,795 (US$ 2,436).
This features firmed and specifically tuned suspension, along with dynamic
engine and transmission mounts. The car can be specced with ceramic
brakes, for £ 5,995 (US$ 8,137).
Powering the new Mercedes-AMG GT S Roadster is the
twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 engine. It generates 522 PS and 670 Nm of torque and works together with a dual-clutch seven-speed
automatic transmission. The naught to 100 km/h acceleration is made in
3.8 seconds and top speed is 309 km/h.
