KTM India has introduced an all-new
black colour variant of its pocket-sized supersport motorcycle, RC200. The KTM
RC200 black variant is launched in India at a price of INR 1.77 lakh
(ex-showroom, Delhi). Earlier this month, KTM India confirmed that the KTM 390
Adventure will be launched in India in 2019.
The new black colour scheme becomes only
the second colour option on the KTM RC200 along with the existing white paint
scheme. In essence, the RC200 is the only motorcycle in the KTM RC range to get
two colour options, whereas the KTM RC390 continues to be available with a
single colour. KTM India is offering the RC 200 Black Colour at the same prices
as that of the regular variant without charging any premium.
The KTM RC200 black colour variant looks
largely similar to the RC390 with slight variations in the graphics. The bike
gets orange coloured trellis frame and wheels, while the bodywork is gloss
black. The RC200 black colour gets white and orange body decals, however, as compared
to the RC390, the decals on the RC 200 are inverted. For instance, the inner
fairing on the RC200 is finished in white, while the outer fairing sports
orange decals.
As far as performance is concerned, the
bike remains unchanged. The KTM RC200 sources its power from a 199.5cc,
single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected engine that is capable of
producing 25.5 bhp of maximum power and 19.2 Nm of peak torque. Power is sent
to the rear wheels via a six-speed transmission. Equipment list includes projector
headlamps and a digital instrument cluster.
The bike gets its stopping power from
disc brakes on both the ends; however, ABS is sorely missed. That said, ABS
will be made mandatory on all bikes in India above 125cc from April 2019.
Suspension duties are shouldered by upside-down fork upfront along with a
preload-adjustable mono-shock at the rear.
