The 2019 Honda CR-V has gone on sale across the United
States on November 13 with subtle updates and a slight price increase. No one expected the CR-V to bring major updates for 2019.
Still, Honda could have tried harder because the only modification to the CR-V
lineup is the addition of a Platinum White Pearl exterior color. The new paint
replaces White Diamond Pearl and completes the CR-V’s 10 color choices.
Despite the lack of updates, the 2019 CR-V’s
starting MSRP adds US$ 100 over the previous model year. The base Honda CR-V LX
with two-wheel drive starts at US$ 24,350, while the LX with all-wheel drive is
priced from US$ 25,750.
As for the EX and EX-L models, their starting prices
add US$ 200 over the 2018 model year. Pricing for the Touring grade remains unchanged.
All prices exclude a US$ 995 destination and handling fee. As before, LX models feature the
standard 2.4-liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder i-VTEC engine that
produces 184 hp. EX models and above get the 1.5-liter turbocharged
four-cylinder unit with Variable Valve Timing Control that makes 190 hp. Both
engines feature a standard CVT, which in the case of the turbo unit gets Honda
G-Shift control logic.
The 2019 CR-V continues to offer the Honda Sensing
safety suite as standard equipment on EX and higher trims. The pack includes
Collision Mitigation Braking System with Forward Collision Warning and
pedestrian sensing capability, Road Departure Mitigation with Lane Departure
Warning, Adaptive Cruise Control with low-speed follow, and Lane Keeping
Assist.
Available driver assistance features consist of
Blind Spot Information, Rear Cross Traffic Monitor, and Auto High-Beam
headlights. Finally, the 2019 Honda CR-V also offers optional premium features
such as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, SiriusXM, HD Radio and
Pandora capabilities.
