Hyundai has
revealed the Veloster N will have a base price of US$ 27,785 (US$ 26,900 plus an US$ 885
delivery fee). This means the model will cost US$ 8,400 more than the entry-level
Veloster 2.0 and US$ 1,500 more than the Veloster Turbo.
While that’s not
exactly pocket change, the Veloster N comes nicely equipped with LED lighting
units and 18-inch alloy wheels. The hatch also has a proximity key with a push
button ignition, an 8-speaker Infinity audio system and an 8-inch infotainment
system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility. Other highlights
include air conditioning, alloy pedals and power windows / locks.
Of course, the
Veloster N is all about performance and the model doesn’t disappoint as it has
a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 250 hp and 352 Nm of torque. The car also comes standard with an
electronically controlled suspension and a six-speed manual transmission which
sends power to the front wheels.
Buyers looking for
something even more powerful can order the N Performance package for an
additional US$ 2,100 for a total of US$ 29,885 (US$ 29,000 plus a US$ 885 delivery fee). It
rewards drivers with an upgraded engine that produces 275 hp and 352 Nm of torque.
Besides featuring
more power, the performance package adds a sports exhaust system and larger
19-inch alloy wheels that are wrapped in Pirelli P Zero tires. The package also
includes an upgraded braking system with discs that measure 345
mm front and 312 mm rear. The 2019 Veloster N marks the first
time an N model has been sold in the United States and the car will go on sale
next month.
