UK buyers can now place their orders for the E 300 de Saloon and Estate plug-in hybrid, with pricing starting from £ 47,700 for the former and £ 49,700 for the latter. The E 300 de is powered by a 194 PS 2.0-liter diesel engine and a 122 PS electric motor that put out a combined 306 PS and 700 Nm of torque.

Mercedes claims an average consumption of 166.2 mpg UK (1.7 l/100km, 138.36 mpg US) on the combined cycle, with just 41 g/km of CO2 emitted by the saloon and 44 g/km by the estate. In a straight line, you can rush from zero to 100 km/h in 5.9 seconds with the saloon and 6 seconds flat for the estate. The fully electric range is 54 km for the four-door and 51 km for the wagon, while the battery can be charged from 10 to 100% in under two hours with a 7.4 kW charger.


Entry-level SE models feature blind spot assist, widescreen cockpit, four USB ports, illuminated door sills, split-folding rear seats, Parking package with Active Parking Assist, Seat Comfort package with electro-pneumatic four-way lumbar support, ambient lighting, 18-inch alloy wheels, Keyless-Go, light carbon-grain aluminum trim (with a black open-pored ash wood center console) and heated front seats. The AMG Line trim adds AMG exterior styling, 18-inch five-twin-spoke alloys, black open-pore ash wood trim with Artico Dinamica leather upholstery, an AMG steering wheel and privacy glass.

For an extra £ 2,395 you can get the Premium package, which adds COMAND Online, the Memory package, wireless charging, Multibeam LED and the Parking package with a 360-degree camera. The £ 4,395 Premium Plus package gives you all that plus a Burmester surround sound system, Keyless-Go package with hands-free access, automatic powered boot closing, keyless entry and a panoramic sunroof.


Customers can opt for the Comfort pack, which costs £ 1,895 for the SE trim and £ 3,295 for AMG Line models. It includes Air Balance, Energizing comfort control, Air Body Control air suspension and Nappa leather upholstery (AMG Line only). For an extra £ 595, the Night package adds high-gloss black 18-inch wheels, diamond radiator grille and a single louvre in high-gloss black. The same color is then used for the front apron and rear bumper.

As for active safety, the £ 595 Lane Tracking package includes Active Lane Keeping Assist, while the more comprehensive £ 1,695 Driving Assistance package adds Active Brake Assist, Active Distance Assist, Active Speed Limit Assist, Active Lane-change Assist, Evasive Steering Assist, Pre-Safe Impulse Side and Pre-Safe Plus.
