Slowly but surely, the entire facelifted
Mercedes-Benz E-Class family comes out of hiding. We first saw prototypes of the
estate model last month, followed by the E-Class All-Terrain a few days ago,
and now the coupe. Arguably the best-looking member of the current E-Class
family, it’s safe to say it will hold on to that title after the mid-cycle
refresh.
As with the rest of the E-Class body styles, the
coupe will receive an updated front end with new headlights, grille, and
bumper. For now, the camouflage is too thick to allow us to decipher the way
the finished item will look like.
The only thing that is visible at the front is the
new CLS-like signature of the LED headlights. The facelift will bring fewer
changes to the rear end, which will gain a new pair of LED taillights.
Everything else remains unchanged.
Along with the styling treatment, the E-Class Coupe
will get equipment and powertrain updates that will make it even more
attractive than it is now. Still, don’t
expect major modifications to the engine lineup because Mercedes has already
introduced its newest power plants on the current model, including straight-six
gasoline and diesel units.
Unsurprisingly, the big coupe will pack the latest
onboard tech as far as infotainment and active safety systems go. Furthermore,
2020 E-Class Coupe should be in for some interior tweaks as well that will
bring new materials and trims. The facelifted E-Class Coupe should launch after the sedan and wagon,
probably in late 2019-early 2020.
