There were many
people that saw an eerie resemblance with the Mercedes G-Class when the new
Suzuki Jimny arrived. With the new styling kit from Japanese tuners DAMD Inc,
these people will be justified as the Jimny becomes essentially a mini G63,
minus the rumbling V8 of course.
The new styling
kit, also known as ‘Little G’, is currently under development but DAMD Inc.
says it’ll be ready in 2019. Based on the provided GGI, the transformation of
the Jimny includes a new front facia -complete with headlights, grille and
bumper-, wider fender flares, a new rear bumper and spare wheel cover, as well
as new wheels and tires.
There’s even a new
bonnet that follows the same lines with the G-Class. The overall effect makes
the Jimny look a lot more like the Geländewagen than we dare to admit but if
you’re not a fan, the Japanese tuner has one more option for you. This is DAMD
Inc.’s Suzuki Jimny ‘Little D’ (hey, who are we to judge). If your off-road
heart belongs to Land Rover but can’t quite stretch to purchase a Defender,
then this might just do the trick.
The recipe is
exactly the same with the ‘Little G’: there’s a new front fascia that includes
new lights, front grille, bumper and bonnet, together with different-shaped
fender flares, mud flaps and a rear bumper that features circular taillights in
the same fashion with the British off-road icon. A new set of wheels shod in
off-road tires and your new “mini-Defender” is ready for action.
