Nissan Maxima already up for grabs at dealers
nationwide. The updated Maxima is available in five trim levels, including the S,
SV, SL, SR and Platinum. For the base model, Nissan is asking US$ 33,950, whereas
the top-of-the-line Platinum starts at US$ 41,440. Pricing excludes the US$ 895
destination charge and handling fee.
For 2019MY, Nissan has added a new exterior paint
color to the palette, called Sunset Drift ChromaFlair. The updated Maxima also
sports new wheels as well as standard Rear Door Alert and Intelligent Driver
Alertness for all grades, SiriusXM Radio with Advanced Auto Features, revised
Door-to-Door navigation system offered as standard across all grades except for
the S, two USB Type-C ports, and available Traffic Sign Recognition.
The 2019 Nissan Maxima also gets a suite of optional
driving assistance gizmos, called the Nissan Safety Shield 360, offered at no
extra cost in the range-topping trim. The bundle of driver assistance systems
includes Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, Rear Automatic
Breaking, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Blind Spot Warning, High Beam Assist and
Lane Departure Warning.
As for the optional Platinum Reserve Package, it
adds 19-inch aluminum-alloy wheels, Rakuda Tan semi-aniline interior treatment
and heated rear seats. There’s also the SR Premium Package available, with
Safety Shield 360, 360-degree camera system and dual panel panoramic moonroof.
The 3.6-liter V6 engine, rated at 300 hp and 354 Nm of torque, and married to an Xtronic
transmission, is carried over.
