The Lincoln Continental 80th Anniversary Coach Door
Edition celebrates the brand’s heritage and it will be a proper flagship. The
limited edition model will have a base price “just north of US$ 100,000 (£ 79,277 /
€ 88,130).” That’s more than twice the price of the entry-level Continental
which starts at US$ 46,145 before destination and delivery fees.
Of course, the Continental Coach Door Edition
doesn’t skimp on the goods as it’s comes nicely equipped with a Black Label
interior that features 30-way “Perfect Position” seats, Active Noise Control
technology and a Revel Ultima audio system. That’s just the tip of the iceberg
as the wheelbase has been stretched by 6 inches (152.4 mm) and this enables the
model to deliver best-in-class second-row legroom.
One of the models more unique features is its
full-length center console which boasts wood trim and dedicated climate
controls. The console also has a stowable tray table and a tablet holder. Power is provided exclusively by
a twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6 engine that develops 400 hp and 542 Nm of torque.
The Continental 80th Anniversary Coach Door Edition
is currently available to order through Lincoln Black Label dealers and first
models are scheduled to arrive next summer. Only 80 units will be built for the
2019 model year, but Lincoln has already confirmed availability will extended
into the 2020 model year.
While US$ 100,000 is a lot to pay for a Lincoln,
interested customers will have a chance to check out the Continental Coach Door
Edition at the North American International Auto Show. The press preview begins
on January 14th and the doors open to the general public five days later.
