Deliveries of the new generation Corolla in the United Kingdom shall begin next year, in two body styles, Hatchback and Touring Sports, but the car is already available to order. Both versions of Toyota’s compact car share the same trim level naming scheme and equipment structure. The base version is called the Icon and starts from £ 21,300 for the hatch, and £ 22,570 for the estate.

Standard gear includes automatic LED headlights, 16-inch alloy wheels, E-Call system, dual-zone air-con (1.8 Hybrid models only), DAB radio, reversing camera, 8-inch infotainment system, 2-inch color TFT multi-info display, and heated seats with lumbar support.

The Icon Tech grade has an MSRP of £ 22,350 for the hatch, and £ 23,620 for the station wagon, and adds Intelligent Park Assist and parking sensors (Intelligent Clearance Sonar on the 1.8 H versions), Touch and Go with sat-nav and voice control, and 7-inch TFT multi-info display.

Called Design, the other mid-range trim level will set its future buyers back for at least £ 23,375 for the Hatchback and £ 24,645 for the Touring Sports. In return, they’ll enjoy equipment such as 17-inch alloy wheels, LED front fog lamps, rain-sensing wipers, rear privacy glass, auto-dimming rearview mirror, power-adjustable heated side mirrors with automatic folding function, and optional opening panoramic roof.

The range-topping trim level is the Excel, which costs £ 27,345 / £ 28,615 starting price for the Hatchback and Touring Sports, respectively. This flavor adds 18-inch alloy wheels for the hatch (17-in ones for the estate), bi-LED headlights, smart entry, sports front seats and part-leather upholstery. Additionally, it can be enhanced with the optional two-tone paint finish on the Hatchback only, JBL premium sound system for the 2-liter H models only, and opening panoramic roof.

A host of driving assistance technology features is offered as standard, as part of the Toyota Safety Sense, which includes Pre-Collision System, Adaptive Cruise Control with low-speed function, Lane Trace Assist, Road Sign Assist and automatic high beams.

The Icon and Icon Tech models are available with the 1.8-liter self-charging hybrid system and turbocharged 1.2-liter petrol engine. The Design variants come with the 2.0-liter hybrid, while the Excel is all-hybrid, offered with both the 1.8- and 2.0-liter powertrains.

The brand’s UK retailers are currently accepting pre-orders, ahead of the sales launch scheduled for March, next year. Production of the car takes place at Toyota’s Burnaston facility, in Derbyshire.
