Hyundai has launched the Nexo in the United Kingdom,
but it will cost you a pretty penny. In fact, it will you put straight in Range
Rover territory, as the hydrogen-powered SUV has a starting price of £ 65,995, which includes a £ 3,500 Plug In Car Grant. There’s only one
available trim level called the SE.
You may find comfort in the fact that
it’s equipped with all sorts of amenities such as LED lights, 19-inch wheels
and flush door handles. Customers will be able to choose between five standard
exterior colors, including the Titanium Grey, which is available at launch
only.
The 7-inch instrument cluster, 12.3-inch
infotainment system with split-screen function, smartphone integration,
wireless charging pad, leather seats with heating and ventilation at the front,
heated steering wheel, dual-zone climate control, sunroof, electric tailgate
and others are also standard.
Drivers are assisted by a range of safety features
such as the Autonomous Emergency Braking, Blind Spot Detection, Rear Cross
Traffic Alert, Driver Attention Alert, Lane Following and Lane Keep Assists,
High Beam Assist, Smart Parking Assist and Adaptive Cruise Control.
Refueling the 3 tanks with hydrogen takes around 5
minutes and after that, the Nexo can be driven for up to 666 km in
the WLTP cycle. The total system output of 163 PS and 395 Nm of torque allows for a 0-100 km/h)acceleration of 9.5
seconds and a 179 km/h top speed.
The Nexo benefits from Hyundai’s 5-year unlimited
mileage warranty. The hybrid battery has an 8-year warranty and there’s a
12-year anti-corrosion warranty as well.
