The track-focused SCG 003CS from Scuderia Cameron
Glickenhaus is one the fastest hypercars present at this year’s New York Auto
Show, and it’s powered by a 4.4-liter twin turbo BMW engine with some 700 RWHP.
According to the carmaker’s Twitter feed, this SCG
003CS was driven to the NYC event instead of arriving there in the back of a
transport truck, which means that a bunch of lucky commuters got to see it out
on the road during its journey.
The 003CS is road-legal in 49 states (at least) and
features a carbon fiber chassis, body and subframes, a paddle shift Cima
gearbox, Brembo carbon ceramic brakes, Forgeline centerlock wheels and driver
adjustable shocks with different settings for road and track. It also comes
with race-inspired side mirrors with built-in side cameras and dashboard side
mirror screens, plus driver-operated front and rear lifters to go with the
hardcore CS bits, like the massive rear wing.
It also generates 998 kg of net down
force and 2G of mechanical grip on road tires. Total weight? Roughly 1,179 kg – so you get a very nice power-to-weight ratio.
The BMW-sourced power unit allows you to max out in
excess of 370 km/h and hit 96 km/h from a standstill in
under 3 seconds, making this one of the fastest-accelerating cars in the world.
