Seventeen years after the first-gen Touareg broke cover, VW has put together the 1 millionth example, which is being celebrated with a special edition named Touareg One Million. The mid-size SUV features a distinctive makeover, boasting the optional Sechura Beige paintwork, wheel arch strips and diffuser in glossy black, ‘One Million’ badging on the B pillars and 20- or 21-inch wheels.

Its styling can be further enhanced with the R-Line Black Style package, offering a glossy black grille, window surrounds and side mirror caps.

Greeting users upon opening the doors are the ‘One Million’ sill plates, but they’re far from being the only new features inside, as the Touareg One Million Edition also sports other mods. For example, the Puglia leather seats colored with olive leaf extracts are an exclusive feature.

Furthermore, Amber Brown diamond stiching is found on the upper parts of the front seats, door panels, dashboard, steering wheel and gear lever. Decorative elements in Silver Wave contribute to the special character of the SUV, along with the Innovision Cockpit, used to control the air conditioning, seat heating and others.

Power comes from a 3.0-liter, V6 TDI diesel engine, which delivers 286 PS and 600 Nm of torque. This allows you to get from 0-100 km/h in 6.1 seconds and max out at 235 km/h. As for pricing, the Touareg One Million Edition starts at € 80,880 (US$ 90,703) in Germany. That’s € 22,265 (US$ 24,269) more than the base V6 TDI-powered Touareg, and almost as much as the model using the V8 diesel, which can be had from € 89,825 (US$ 100,735).
