Toyota has yet to announce official pricing for
their new 86 Hakone Edition, but according to a report, it will be over US$ 30,000.
To be precise, it’s rumored to start at US$ 30,825 when
fitted with the six-speed manual transmission, and US$ 31,545 with the auto ‘box,
as revealed by CarsDirect. That makes it US$ 2,975 and US$ 3,695 more expensive than
the base 2020 86.
Basically identical to Japan’s 86 British Green
Limited, the 86 Hakone Edition is based on the 86 GT and features a few updates
and customizations that should make it more appealing. Chief among them, is the
edition-specific green paint job, contrasted by 17-inch bronze wheels and a
black rear spoiler, in addition to LED headlights and exhaust system with
double chrome tips.
On the inside, the 86 Hakone Edition has two-tone
leather and Alcantara seats, plus steering wheel, parking brake and gear shifter
with tan contrast stitching, and ‘86’ logo embroidered on the dashboard and
trunk mat. The car is also equipped with keyless entry and push-button start,
dual-zone climate control, heated front seats, cruise control and others.
Additionally, customers will get a pair of tan key gloves and folio cover.
The 2.0-liter, four-cylinder naturally breathing
engine remains unchanged producing up to 205 hp and 211 Nm of torque, depending on the paired transmission
