A recent report claimed that Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India will bring the Forza 300 maxi-scooter to our market by late-2019. It will arrive in India via the CBU route and could retail at a hefty ~INR 7 lakh (on-road, Delhi) price tag, becoming costlier than even some middleweight motorcycles.

The maxi-scooter styling brings features such as a tall windscreen (electrically adjustable), spacious storage space and premium hardware to the Forza 300. The front fascia features an apron-mounted LED headlight. The rear-view mirrors get integrated turn indicators and they are installed on the apron, next to the windscreen. The cockpit includes a car dashboard-style, semi-digital layout that includes analogue tachometer and speedometer, while rest of the information like the fuel gauge, oil temperature, trip meters, odometer, range (distance-to-empty), air temperature and battery voltage are available on the digital screen.

The footboard is designed to offer sufficient space to the rider to move his legs and place them in the most comfortable position. The feature will come handy during long rides. The large saddle can easily accommodate two adults comfortably, while the massive under-seat storage can store two full-face helmets. The under-seat space can be customised to suit specific needs. The lockable inner fairing pocket comes with an ACC charging socket to power your electronic devices on the go. LED blinkers and LED tail light at the back complete the full LED lighting package on the scooter, thus giving it a premium look and styling.

In terms of mechanical specifications, the Honda Forza 300 draws power from a 276 cc 4-valve, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder, fuel-injected engine that delivers 25.15 PS of max power at 7,000 rpm and 27.2 Nm of peak torque at 5,750 rpm. The claimed fuel economy stands at 31 km/l. The fuel tank capacity of 11.5 litres should result in a range of 350 km between refuelling.

The shock absorption tasks are performed by telescopic forks at the front and twin springs at the back. Anchoring department comprises 256 mm and 240 mm discs at the front and back respectively, while the safety net includes Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC) and dual-channel ABS as standard. Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India have announced no plans to introduce such a model. However, a report from earlier this week claims that the maxi-scooter could arrive by the end of this year. The Forza 300 will be sold and serviced via the Honda BigWings dealerships across the country.

The scooter does not have any direct rivals in the Indian market and the only threat comes from the much lower-priced Kymco 300i maxi-scooter.
