Buick Envision will soon receive a second facelift in its home market – and we already know what it will look like. As is usual in China before the launch of a new model, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has published the first photos of the 2020 Buick Envision for certification purposes. The update is mostly cosmetic, with the most significant changes taking place at the front.

The revamped Envision receives a new pair of headlights, a larger grille, and a redesigned front bumper. At the back, the taillights have been redesigned as well along with the tailgate and bumper. Additionally, the horizontal chrome bar is now sharper towards the edges and pierces deeper into the lamps.

Due to the new bumpers, the 2020 Buick Envision is now 8 mm longer at 4,694 mm, but the wheelbase stays the same at 2,750 mm. There aren’t any photos of the interior available yet, but a new infotainment system and new materials will probably be part of the update.

Documents posted by the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology also reveal that the facelifted Envision is still available with a 1.5-liter SIDI turbocharged four-cylinder rated at 169 PS — that’s 7 PS less than before. The current model’s seven-speed dual-clutch transmission is likely to carry over. Interestingly, there’s no mention regarding the 260 PS 2.0-liter SIDI turbo four available in the outgoing model. Mated to a 9-speed auto, the engine comes with standard AWD.

In China, the facelifted Buick Envision should debut before the end of this year, although there’s no info when the changes will also be implemented in the U.S. version as well.
