Ford has announced a series of updates for the 2020
Galaxy and S-Max in Europe, which now sport a visual makeover plus new gear.
Enhancing the two people carriers is the Vignale
specification, which benefits from a few highlights such as the ‘flying V’
signature for the upper grille, with satin chrome surround, and satin chrome
fog lamp surrounds.
Inside, the Galaxy Vignale gets the leather-wrapped
instrument panel and center console with grey stitching, heated steering wheel
and aluminum appliques and pedals. The S-Max Vignale adds heated and cooled
front seats, with electric adjustment and massage function.
Offering a more distinctive styling compared to the
regular S-Max and Galaxy are the revised front ends. Trend and Titanium models
get bright chrome upper grille and fog lamp surrounds, whereas the S-Max
ST-Line sports a unique honeycomb grille with black surround and black fog lamp
surrounds. New wheel options complete the revised look, with the 18-inch two-tone,
15-spoke set available for the S-Max and Galaxy Titanium, and the 17-inch
two-tone, 20-spoke available for the Galaxy Titanium.
The Trend and Titanium variants of the two minivans
pack new 18-way adjustable front seats. Elsewhere, the S-Max and Galaxy feature
Wi-Fi hotspot capability via the optional FordPass Connect, which also includes
the FordPass mobile app that allows users to find the vehicle, check the fuel
level, oil life and alarm, and remotely lock and unlock the doors.
The new
Local Hazard information functionality informs drivers of a potentially
dangerous situation on the road ahead, independent to the sat-nav and based on
data sourced from emergency services, local authorities and other vehicles
connected.
Powering the 2020 S-Max and Galaxy is a 2.0-liter
diesel engine, in three outputs, producing 150 PS, 190 PS and 240 PS. Base models get a six-speed
manual transmission, whereas the updated eight-speed auto is available in
higher specs.
