It’s been 50 years since the world first met the original Dodge Challenger (and surprisingly, 11 years since the current, 3rd generation landed) and the car maker is celebrating the occasion with the launch of a new limited edition simply called the 50th Anniversary.

The 2020 Dodge Challenger 50th Anniversary, which debuts at the LA Auto Show, will be available on the Challenger GT RWD, R/T Shaker, R/T Scat Pack Shaker and R/T Scat Pack Shaker Widebody models as a limited-edition package priced from US$ 4,995.

The package includes a range of high-impact paint finishes -including the new “Gold Rush”-, the Shaker hood scoop, unique “Gold School” wheels, special badges and even headlamps with illuminated “50” logos. Each special edition will also get a satin black hand-painted hood and a black-wrapped roof and decklid, as well as a satin black fuel-filler door with the heritage “Fuel” lettering on it.

The interior of the 2020 Dodge Challenger 50th Anniversary features black Nappa leather/Alcantara seats that are both heated and ventilated and feature Sepia accent stitching and embroidered ‘50’ badges. The Sepia stitching carries on throughout the cabin, to the instrument panel, door cards and armrest, center console and steering wheel.

The dashboard features real carbon fiber trim and console bezels with a copper weave, while the floor mats also host an embroidered “50” logo. Finally we get the special Challenger 50th Anniversary badge on the passenger side, which is color matched to the exterior and showcases the unique identification number of each car.

Dodge will build 70 numbered examples for each high-impact paint finish across the four available models, with a total of 1,960 units planned to be produced. In addition, all 2020 Dodge Challenger Hellcat and Hellcat Redeye model will come with a special ‘50th Anniversary” grille badge as standard.
