The facelifted 2020 Audi A4
has finally reached U.S. shores in sedan, Allroad and S4 guises but no RS4
Avant, unfortunately. U.S. prices start from US$ 37,400 for the sedan, US$ 44,600 for
the Allroad and US$ 49,900 for the S4 (excluding US$ 995 destination). As with the
European model, the U.S.-spec 2020 Audi A4 brings a revised exterior thanks to
all-LED lighting and new body kit, a refreshed interior featuring the latest
10.1-inch MIB 3 infotainment system and new driver assistance systems.
Priced from US$ 37,400, the base
2020 Audi A4 40 TFSI features a 2.0-liter TFSI turbocharged four-cylinder engine
making 188 HP and 320 Nm of torque. Hooked to a seven-speed S
tronic dual-clutch transmission, the power plant drives the front wheels.
For US$ 40,900, customers can opt
for the 2020 Audi A4 45 TFSI quattro powered by a 2.0-liter TFSI delivering 248
HP and 370 Nm of torque. The seven-speed S tronic dual-clutch
gearbox directs power to all four wheels via the standard AWD system for a0-96 km/h time of 5.6 seconds.
US$ 44,600 will buy you the 2020
Audi A4 allroad quattro featuring the same powertrain as above and a 0-96 km/h time of 5.9 seconds. More importantly, the wagon comes with a standard adaptive
suspension that raises the ride height by an additional 34 mm compared
to the sedan, thanks in part to higher profile tires.
Finally, the range-topping
2020 Audi S4 sedan starting at US$ 49,900 comes with a 3.0-liter TFSI V6 engine
instead of the European model’s diesel unit, good for 349 HP and 500
Nm of torque. The standard eight-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission and
quattro AWD system contribute to a 0-96 km/h time of 4.4 seconds.
On the tech front, the 2020
Audi A4 lineup brings new driver assistance tech such as standard Audi pre
sense basic and Audi pre sense city as well as many available systems. The
latter include Audi side assist, Audi active lane assist, Rear cross traffic
alert, Audi pre sense rear, Adaptive cruise control with Traffic Jam assist,
top view camera system and Park assist.
