UK buyers can now order the VW T-Cross with a more powerful four-cylinder 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline unit, producing 150 PS, which is enough to get you from zero to 100 km/h in 8.5 seconds.

It also offers a top speed of 200 km/h, and in ideal circumstances, it can return 44.0 mpg (36.6 US mpg) on the combined WLTP cycle, emitting 118-119 g/km of CO2 (NEDC). Buyers can choose between SEL and R-Line trims for this new engine, available exclusively with a 7-speed DSG gearbox. The T-Cross 1.5 TSI is priced from £ 24,910 in SEL spec, while the sportier R-Line variant will set you back £ 26,810 with the same engine.

Both the SEL and R-Line specs feature front and rear parking sensors, Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with Front Assist, LED headlights and an 8.0-inch Discover Navigation system as standard, plus two USB ports in the rear of the car.

The R-Line however adds larger 18-inch ‘Nevada’ alloys and a 10.25-inch Active Info Display for the driver.
