The current iteration of the Dacia/Renault
Logan has been in production since 2012, with the first-generation model also
having enjoyed an 8-year life cycle. We’ve known for some time that a
third-generation model was on its way, and recent spy images taken in Southern
Europe show just how “close” Renault is to unveiling its budget best-seller.
Since we’ve only seen one prototype so far, it’s unlikely that the new Logan
will break cover in the coming months.
Despite its full-body camo, it’s pretty
obvious that the new Logan will feature a different design language than its
predecessor. It will certainly not be too different, but there are one or two
wavy design elements running across its profile that you won’t find on the
current car.
Also, it’s hard to say what the front
fascia will look like, but the folks from Kolesa gave it a go at imagining the
Renault-badged variant without any pesky vinyl on. They did however do a pretty
accurate job with the profile design, as well as the taillights, which will
clearly be smaller on the new car, while protruding gently into the trunk lid.
As for what it will look like on the
inside, your guess is as good as ours. The prototype had its dashboard covered
up, which means changes were made on that end too – as expected. The 2021
Dacia/Renault Logan is said to run on a simplified version of Renault’s CMF-B
platform, meaning a hybrid version could be in the cards, possibly using the
140 PS electrified powertrain of the Clio. Mild-hybrids could also
arrive later on, to join a predominantly diesel/petrol range.
