DS will use the Geneva Motor Show to
introduce a new concept and a production model. The company is keeping details
under wraps, but said the production model will “enhance” their lineup. The
concept, on the other hand, is “particularly sophisticated and technically
advanced to portray the beginning of a new era.”
That isn’t much to go on, but DS released
a handful of teasers on social media. Nothing is official, but the production
model looks like the DS9 flagship which was caught undisguised year. As you can
see, the model has a large grille with a chrome surround that flows into the
headlights. There’s also a wide air intake and what appears to be virtual LED
daytime running lights.
Elsewhere, we can see flowing bodywork and
strong character lines. The model also has jewel-like taillights and a
minimalist center console. Little else is known about the car, but DS9 is
slated to ride on the EMP2 platform and measure 4,933 mm long, 1,855 mm wide and 1,468 mm tall with a wheelbase that
spans 2,895 mm.
Reports have indicated the car will be
offered with two different powertrains. The base model is rumored to have a
turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder with 197 hp, while a
plug-in hybrid E-Tense version has been confirmed by these teaser images. The
car will be revealed on Facebook in a “pre-premiere” on February 24th. A few
days later, on February 26th, the concept will grace social media.
Less is known about the concept, but DS is
celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Citroën SM in Geneva. It remains
unclear if the concept will also be a high-performance coupe, but DS will be
showing an SM to mark the occasion.
