An order guide for the 2021 Ford Mustang has leaked online and it reveals that the Performance Pack 2 will no longer by available for the GT. Ford had already confirmed that the GT350/GT350R and Bullitt models would be dropped from the range for the 2021 model year. Now, with the Performance Pack 2 being scrapped, the 2021 Mustang Mach 1 will have to fill the void left behind by these three models.
As noted by Muscle Cars and Trucks, the
Performance Pack 2 for the GT was a great way for Mustang owners to make their
vehicles more track-focused. It includes 19-inch wheels with massive
305-section Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires at all four corners, Brembo
six-piston front brake calipers with enlarged discs, a larger radiator,
MagneRide Damping System with track-inspired calibration, strut tower brace,
bespoke chassis, stability control, EPAS, and ABS tuning, unique springs and
sway bars, a K-brace, high-performance front splitter, an interior Gauge Pack,
and an engine-spun aluminum instrument panel.
The package was exclusively available for
Mustang GT models with the six-speed manual transmission and came at a
reasonable price of US$ 6,500, although it did need to be paired with the 301A
Equipment Group that adds another US$ 2,000. The cheapest Mustang GT Performance
Pack 2 you could buy was from US$ 45,575, lining it up nicely against the
Chevrolet Camaro SS 1LE that’s priced from US$ 45,495.
Elsewhere, the order guide shared by the
Mustang6G forums adds that Ford will make its Co-Pilot360 technology standard
on all Mustang variants. This will include lane-keeping assist, blind-spot
warning, automatic emergency braking w/pedestrian detection, rain-sensing
wipers, and auto high-beams. Moreover, some minor trim and material changes to
the cabin have been made, while pricing has yet to be confirmed.
