Dacia is now accepting orders for the new generation Sandero in the United Kingdom, which retains the most affordable new car crown, with a sub-£ 8,000 (US$ 10,700) starting price. Available in three trim levels, named Access, Essential and Comfort, it is available from £ 7,995 (US$ 10,695), £ 8,995 (US$ 12,032) and £ 11,595 (US$ 15,510) respectively. Reservations via the dedicated online portal start at £ 99 (US$ 132), and those who order it this way will get three years of free servicing and will also be the first to take deliveries of the car, starting in April 2021.
Standard features include automatic LED
headlights with DRLs, 15-inch steel wheels, automatic emergency braking, six
airbags, a speed limiter, front electric windows and phone docking station. The
Essential adds 15-inch wheel covers, body-colored bumpers, height adjustable
driver’s seat with armrest, adjustable steering column, manual air-con, remote
central locking, cruise control, Media Control, DAB radio, Bluetooth and USB.
The Comfort comes with 15-inch Flexwheels, body-colored side mirror caps,
chrome trim, electric rear windows, 8-inch touchscreen display, reversing
camera and rain-sensing wipers.
The engine lineup kicks off with the SCe
65 PS for the Access and Essential. The latter is also
available with the TCe 90 PS and the TCe 100 PS bi-fuel, and so is the range-topping Comfort, which is the sole trim level
available with an automatic transmission for the TCe 90 powertrain. The Sandero
Stepway is offered with the TCe 90 and TCe 100 bi-fuel engines across the
range, with the lesser unit being available with an automatic gearbox in the
Comfort and Prestige grades.
Pricing for the Sandero Stepway starts at
£ 10,995 (US$ 14,708) for the Essential, which comes with 16-inch Flexwheels, LED
headlights, front fog lamps, black roof bars and tinted rear windows. It also
features a height-adjustable driver’s seat with armrest, adjustable steering
column, Media Control system, dusk-sensing headlights, rear parking sensors,
automatic emergency braking and E-Call.
The Comfort trim can be had from £ 12,595
(US$ 16,848) and adds modular roof bars, chrome exterior trim, keyless entry,
automatic headlamps and wipers, electric adjustable side mirrors with the caps
finished in the same color as the rest of the car, leather-wrapped steering
wheel, 8-inch infotainment system with smartphone integration and reversing
camera. The new Sandero Stepway range is topped by the Prestige, which comes
from £ 13,395 (US$ 17,918) with 16-inch alloy wheels, automatic parking brake,
heated front seats, automatic climate control, front parking sensors and blind
spot warning.
