Not willing to let Ram bask in the glory of the 1500 TRX’s launch for too long, Hennessey Performance has unveiled a potent upgrade package for the 2021 Ford F-150. The base of the Texas tuner’s latest creation is the F-150 Platinum Edition Super Crew that leaves the Ford factory with a 5.0-liter V8 and a 10-speed automatic transmission complete with four-wheel drive. Dubbed the Venom 800, Hennessey’s F-150 takes things to new heights.
Most notably, the truck’s 5.0-liter V8 has
been equipped with a 3.0-liter supercharged that runs on 8 psi of boost and is
joined by a high-flow cold air induction system, upgraded fuel injectors,
upgraded fuel pump, a stainless steel exhaust, E85 flex-fuel sensor, and
chassis dyno engine calibration. All up, the boosted truck delivers 805 hp at
6,200 rpm and 985 Nm of torque at 4,100 rpm when running on E85.
Hennessey says the Venom 800 can sprint to 96 km/h in a mere 3.6
seconds thanks to its added grunt and run down the quarter-mile in 11.9 seconds
at 186 km/h.
A plethora of other modifications have
been made to the pickup truck. For example, there is a new Brembo braking
system with 6-piston calipers and 15.1-inch cross-drilled steel rotors at the
front. The truck also sits on bespoke 20-inch Hennessey wheels with 35-inch
all-terrain tires. Improving the F-150’s off-road credentials has also been a
priority for Hennessey. As such, it has fitted upgraded shocks with external
reservoirs and a 6-inch lift kit. There’s also some visual changes include a
new front bumper upgrade with LED lights, a Hennessey front grille and unique
exterior badging.
Prices kick off at US$ 149,500, excluding
delivery, and the tuned F-150 is covered by a 3 year / 36,000-mile warranty.
