BMW’s sinister-looking X7 Dark Shadow Edition has been announced for Australia, where only 10 units from the global allocation of 500 will become available, with deliveries expected to commence next March. Customers can reserve a build slot for AU$ 5,000 (US$ 3,712) with only a few mouse clicks, but first they will have to decide whether they want the xDrive30d M Sport or the M50i.
Five of each will be offered, with the
turbodiesel, which uses a 3.0-liter inline-six making 265 PS and 620 Nm of torque starting at AU$ 188,900 (US$ 140,253) and the
twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8 petrol, rated at 530 PS and 750 Nm, being available from AU$ 215,900 (US$ 160,300).
Finished in the BMW Individual’s Frozen
Arctic Grey metallic, the X7 Dark Shadow Edition features High-Gloss Shadow
Line accents, 22-inch light alloy wheels in Jet Black matte, blue brake
calipers and rear privacy glass. The cabin features two-tone Merino leather
upholstery with quilted patterns in Night Blue and Black shades, a Night Blue
Alcantara headliner, aluminum inlays and crystal glass-treated gearshift
selector, iDrive controller and start/stop button. The final exclusive touch is
the ‘Edition Dark Shadow’ signature on the center console.
Both versions of the limited edition X7
are very well equipped, getting standard multi-zone climate control,
electrically adjustable seats, a multi-function and leather-wrapped steering
wheel, soft-close doors, wireless charging pad for compatible smartphones,
wide-screen infotainment system, digital instrument cluster, digital radio, USB
sockets, hi-fi audio and ambient lighting.
