The Toyota Land Cruiser will be getting the Horizon treatment Down Under, which includes a host of stylistic updates inside and out, in a package that will be limited to 400 examples.
Set to launch in March 2021, with a
AU$ 131,896 (US$ 99,528) starting price, it builds on the LC200 Sahara
grade, to which it adds a dark finish for the grille, black headlamp surrounds
and smoked chrome fog light surrounds. The puddle lamps displaying the ‘Land
Cruiser’ logo and the rear ‘Horizon’ badge complete the look on the outside.
Trimmed in black leather, the cockpit also
features black trim, chrome accents and high-end stitching in the door cards.
Elsewhere, the flagship Toyota SUV is equipped with power adjustable heated and
ventilated front seats, 9-inch touchscreen display, satellite navigation
system, rear-seat entertainment with DVD player, premium audio and keyless
entry and go. The Toyota Safety Sense suite of driver assistance items is also
included, bringing with it active cruise control, automatic high beams,
pre-collision safety system with pedestrian detection, blind spot monitor, rear
cross-traffic alert and others.
Powering the new special edition Land
Cruiser is the 4.5-liter V8 bi-turbo diesel engine. It pumps out 272 PS and 650 Nm of torque, and is mated to a six-speed
automatic transmission with sequential shift function and low-range ratios. The
Multi-Terrain Select enhances its driving capability off the beaten path, while
the fully independent suspension ensures a comfortable ride on the asphalt.
